Who am I?

I am a surgeon with expertise in diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant diseases of gastrointestinal tract. I am board certified in General Surgery & Fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatric (obesity), Robotic & Endocrine Surgery. I am both trained and certified for robotic procedures. In fact I am the only general surgeon in the entire South Bay Community who has performed a wide variety of complex benign and malignant procedures robotically. I have performed the first robotic inguinal hernias, the first robotic sleeve gastrectomy and several other robotic procedures in South Bay. I frequently travel and train other surgeons for robotic surgery. Teaching is my passion. I believe there are unlimited learning opportunities for self while teaching others. While my main focus is advanced robotic, laparoscopic & bariatric surgeries, I practice all aspects of general surgery.

Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is very simple: My patient is my family. I will do for them what I would do for my family. I take care of the surgical need of my patient in the best way I can, yet more importantly, while I am operating, there is a beating heart waiting for that patient in the family room and my job is not done till I provide the comfort to the worried family members of my patients. I wholeheartedly believe in “one patient at the time” philosophy and also the uniqueness needs of each patient.

Personal Life

I am happily married to the love of my life and we live locally in the community. Most of our free time is spent with our twins and their activities. Our kids attend local public school and I am proud to say my wife, who is a dentist, spends her free time as volunteer in their school. I am also a long distance biker who enjoys cycling on the Pacific Coast.
